Purim 2025
The Grad Network invites you to belated, yet super festive, Purim Celebration 7-9 p.m. March 27 at Jake’s Dilemma, located at 430 Amsterdam Avenue.
Registration includes drinks, vegetarian food, hamantaschen (of course!), a photo booth, and a service opportunity. The service project is designed in partnership with Repair the World.
Cost should not be a barrier to participation. If you are unable to pay and want to attend, please email Melissa.
Purim Celebrations Throughout New York City
Students in The Grad Network community are welcome to participate in Purim celebrations happening across the city.
We will continuously update this section with more information, as it becomes available. If you’re not finding what you’re looking for, email Melissa, Director of The Grad Network. Melissa will help you find Megillah readings and Purim experiences that best fit how you want to celebrate.
If you would like to attend any holiday experiences and need assistance covering the cost of Purim tickets, you are welcome to apply for a Meaningful Jewish Experience Grant from The Grad Network.
HUB Epic Purim Party

Join hundreds of our Hub community (ages 21-39) for the ultimate Purim party with comedian MODI, circus-style performers, sushi, gourmet charcuterie boards, specialty drinks, and a festive hamantaschen bar.
A Wicked Queer Purim

Join us for Orthodox and egalitarian Megillah readings, sip on themed drinks inspired by the world of Oz, and dance the night away in a swirl of revelry. Whether you’re channeling your inner Glinda, Elphaba, or Esther herself, come ready for a night of joy, mischief, and unexpected twists—because this Purim, anything can happen!

Rush Purim 2025
7:00 p.m. March 13 | Kehillat Harlem
Get ready for a Purim extravaganza you won't want to miss with Kehillat Harlem and Base UWS! Megillah reading followed by an epic Purim party, Greek-life style! Expect beer pong, a keg, boxed wine, a live DJ, and all the Purim chaos you can handle!
One Short Day in the City of Shushan
6:30 p.m. March 13 | B’nai Jeshurun Sanctuary
Follow the Yellow Brick Road all the way to Shushan in this year’s BJ Theater Company Purim Spiel, One Short Day in the City of Shushan! Megillah reading will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by an afterparty.
For those joining us in person, please bring a box of pasta to use as a grogger; all boxes will be donated to West Side Campaign Against Hunger at the end of the night.
Registration is not required for the megillah reading or variety show. Tickets for the afterparty include two drinks and food.

Project Harlem Presents: The Upside Down Experience
7:30 p.m. March 13 | Based in Harlem
The sages of our tradition describe Purim with the enigmatic phrase Nahafochu - "to be turned on its head." This Purim, enter The Upside Down (or were you here the whole time?). Step into the palace. Hear the whole megillah. Get lost in time. Dress festively. (Is it a "costume," or is it your most authentic self?).
We will serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Friends with recovery experiences are warmly welcome.
Shushan Rhapsody: Spiel Based On The Music Of Queen

Are you ready to rock Purim? Shushan Rhapsody retells the Purim story with side-splitting parodies of Queen classics! From “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “We Are the Champions,” celebrate Esther’s bravery and Haman’s blunders in a musical mashup you won’t forget. Don’t miss this royal performance!
The NYC Shabbat Collective Presents: Purim

Get ready for a topsy-turvy Purim celebration like no other! Wear your most creative costume for a chance to win amazing prizes, sip on specialty cocktails, and indulge in breakfast for dinner while enjoying a grown-up Purim carnival filled with fun, games, and surprises.
This event is only for those aged 21-39. Please do not register if you are not in this age bracket. We will check IDs at the door for security purposes and will ask those not 21-39 not to attend. Thank you for helping create a vibrant 20s & 30s community!
POLY-ESTHER: A Queer Purim Party for Everybody
9 p.m. March 13 | Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, Eshel, Lab/Shul, and Sephardi Mizrahi Q Network
Start working on your costumes now, because everyone is invited and the lewks are going to be fierce. The Party is happening at The Stranger, a 3-floor immersive funhouse club experience in the heart of Manhattan, featuring wacky Purim performances in every corner, New York's craziest dance floor, an epic costume contest, karaoke & Megillah rooms, and an entire queer circus troupe.
Purim Celebration and Multi-Lingual Megillah Reading

Purim with CBST is always a fabulous night of revelry! Join us as we retell the story of Queens and villains and victory. We'll begin at 6:00pm with a festive Purim Musical Maariv service, our all-congregation Costume Parade, and our signature multi-lingual Megillah Reading featuring more than a dozen languages!

Wine Down Purim

Wine Down Shabbat is an open, casual family Shabbat gathering in Harlem with music, community connection, pizza, and BYO wine.
The March 14th Wine Down will feature a Purim performance by our Shabbat Show Troupe and costume attire is encouraged for children and the young at heart!
