What: This conversation series will focus on the experiences of ethnic minorities living in Israel and their relationship to the Jewish State, as well as Israel's treatment of each minority group. Throughout the series, we will engage with the perspectives of Holocaust survivors, Mizrahi Jews, Ethiopian Jews, Arab citizens of Israel, Druze, and Soviet Jews. We will also engage with different guest speakers who hold these identities.

Dinner will be provided at each session.

Who: The fellowship is open to graduate students and Israeli students at Columbia University. The ideal participant is curious, willing to consider new ideas, and open to hearing different perspectives. Disagreement is a feature of the Kol Yisrael conversations.

Melissa Kansky, Director of The Grad Network, and Yakov Shapiro, Jewish Agency Israel Fellow, will co-lead the fellowship.

When: The learning cohort will meet from 6- 8 p.m. Thursdays, with the first 30 minutes reserved for dinner and socializing. The first session will be Thursday, September 29 and continue through December 1.

Why: To encounter new ideas, learn from peers, make friends, and have fun! Additionally, selected participants will receive a $100 stipend for completing the fellowship. Students must attend 6 of the 8 sessions to receive the stipend.

How: Submit an application by 5 p.m. Thursday, Thursday 22. All applicants will be notified of their participation status on Friday, September 23.
