Volunteer @ Mandala Cafe with Repair the World + The Grad Network

The Jewish holiday of Sukkot, or the Feast of the Tabernacle, emphasizes the importance of providing for those who are the most vulnerable. Many honor this holiday by supporting folks experiencing housing and food insecurity.

We encourage you to honor this tradition on Wednesday, October 16th, and volunteer to support dinner service at Mandala Cafe, a local nonprofit that distributes 100+ meals every Wednesday evening to community members of varying levels of food security. The meal is prepared by individuals participating in a 10-week culinary training institute for those who have difficulties finding and/or keeping jobs, and supported by volunteers.

Shift Update:

We will be volunteering from 3:30-6:00. If you need to come at 4:00, no problem! Just let us know.

  • 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Volunteers will support in preparing the weekly meal, flyering around the community to spread the word about the meal, and help package winter kits to be donated to the clients

Volunteers are invited to serve the meal and to eat with the community if they would like to!

Additional Information:

  • Food: All volunteers are invited to grab some food and share the community meal.

  • Dress: Volunteers should wear closed toes shoes and clothes that can get dirty.

  • Accessibility: Some (though not all) projects will require volunteers to stand for part of the time.
